Concierge.com's insider take:
Located on a major flyway, the vast Chesapeake wetlands have long been a hotbed for duck hunters who used wooden decoys to lure their winged quarry. The hand-whittled and painstakingly painted works have become highly collectible folk art, at prices even approaching six figures (the cost of an early-20th-century decoy by noted Massachusetts carver Joseph Lincoln still embedded with large-gauge shot). This gallery, which belongs to the world's leading decoy-auction firm, has an excellent inventory of antique and contemporary decoys from makers across North America.
Open Tuesdays through Fridays 10 am to 5 pm, Saturdays 10 am to 2 pm.
