We made Blantyre the nexus of a fabulous weekend in the Berkshires in western Massachusetts, which included the following highlights: Chesterwood, the National Trust Site and 100+ acre studio and home of Daniel Chester French outside of Stockbridge proper; the unique "the Sedgewick Pie" at the Stockbridge cemetery; Arrowhead--the home of Herman Melville where Moby Dick was penned, and Monument Mountain --a day's hike up to the top of the only actual mountain in the area. Blantyre was perfect in every way-food, service and in the details.
