Watch the sun rise from the top of a volcano

My wife and I drove up to the top of Mount Haleakala one morning around 5:30am or so. My wife was pregnant at the time, so we didn't ride mountain bikes back on the way down... but we did see one of the most spectacular sunrises we've ever witnessed. While on the top of Mount Haleakala, the clouds are actually below you (far below you). That - in and of itself - is pretty cool... but when the sun rises, it makes for a surreal experience. This is a must-see while spending time on Maui.
