I'Ideal 1850 - not a patch on L'Alpette

We have just come back from a week in Megeve, the best restaurant hands down is L'Alpette, at the top of Rochebrune lift. We tried to eat there every day, and took our coffee in front of the roaring fire. On the last day, we tried L'ideal which is supposed to be the great rival to L'Alpette.
What a disappointment - the food at L'Ideal was as expensive but very mediocre quality and the ambiance is much less inviting. We cursed the 80 pounds it cost us for lunch (no wine), as we would have had a fabulous meal at L'Alpette for the same money.
