My husband dragged me to Australia with a bunch of other tourists (friends) and I ended up loving everything: NZ (North & South), OZ (North & South). So my main tip for people who are planning to go to Melbourne (mel-ben) is to take the free tram. Everything good is right near the circle tram! Melbs has the most fabulous mass transit system I've ever seen. It's like Switzerland, but they also have intra city transit that rocks. The free tram is amazing. It's like a free San Fran Cable Car. I made a map and put it online. Check it out, if concierge will let the link stand. I could move from Seattle to Melbourne. It's that fab. http://australia-travel.suite101.com/article.cfm/free_melbourne_sightseeing_city_circle_tram Cheers, Tina PS See the old malls from Victorian Era. They are within the city center. report a problem
