Acapulco Cliff Divers

The jump must be made considering the wind, time between leaving the cliff and hitting the water and the tide. If the water level is not deep enough, the diver will not have the 4.5 meters (14.76 ft.) needed to clear the dangerous rocky bottom. In a face first free fall toward rocks and shallow water at about 55 mph, the risk of injury is high. The dives differ in levels of difficulty, in some cases a spectacular show is formed in a duo dive. The current Cliff Divers are descendants of the original Cliff Divers of 1934 when it all began. You might remember seeing Acapulco Cliff Divers on sports television during the '60s and '70s in the USA. If you go alone you pay for a taxi and the show and the cost is about $10 for a taxi and $3.50 for the show and another $10 for a taxi when you leave the show. We used and loved the experience.
