Concierge.com's insider take:
Jazz aficionados can get their fix in Mexico City—although some of the instruments they are likely to encounter, such as the marimba, will give it a different sound than anywhere else. In the basement of what was once a bank building in the Centro Histórico, Zinco still has the huge steel vaults that once held people's fortunes. Now they gladly give up a little of their loot to hear national and international performers take to the tiny stage. The nearly nonexistent lighting and the haze of cigar smoke that hangs in the air give this place a feeling of authenticity.
