Club king Nicola Siervo—the man behind Mokaï—opened this upscale Italian restaurant on Lincoln Road in August 2006. Although both trendy and welcoming, it's oddly low key for such a high-profile owner, with little to pull in casual passersby—the decor is throwaway, just mirrored walls and banquettes. Like Siervo and his sommelier brother Gianluca, most of the staff is Italian, including the perky identical-twin chefs, Nicola and Fabrizio Carro, shipped in from Piedmont. The result is a selection of authentic specials such as homemade ravioli stuffed with fontina and drenched in white truffle oil or bocconcini di vitello (crispy fried morsel-sized veal wraps).
Open Mondays through Fridays noon to 3:15 pm and 6:30 pm to midnight.
