Munich (and Bavaria) is known for its beer but the food is great too. Especially the roast pork or Schweinebraten, which brings to mind an entire roast pig over a spit, as you'll be served a hearty serving of pork with a piece of crackling on top and a perfectly round, white potato dumpling with gravy over everything. Great places to go for this hearty fare are the dining halls of the brewerys: Spaten, Lowenbrau, Hofbrauhaus. They have plenty of room for everyone, and depending on the season, you might like to sit outside in the gardens. report a problem
