My Sister-in-Law was recently tempted to purchase a rug and Tibetan antiques from Seret and Sons. Because I worked at Butterfield's while attending Berkeley, she asked for my opinion. I was impressed by the authenticity of the pieces, but was shocked by the prices. They seemed approximately 8 times over fair retail prices. After contacting sources in Marin, my Sister-in-Law purchased pieces of equal beauty and quality for a fraction of Seret and Son's price. Do a bit of research and shop around before purchasing (and being fleeced) from Seret.
