We love Commander's Palace, having fortuitisly lucked into the now defunct Las Vegas edition some years ago.
As a couple, we've had the opportunity to visit eating establishments on several continents and can say that Commander's is the best.
The food is consistently excellent. I have been sending people to Commander's Palace for a bunch of years with a legitimate offer to pick up their check if they don't love the place. So far nobody has cashed in. My personal recommendation is to order the 1-1-1 soup flight for a starter, one of the soups will always be the best turtle soup anywhere and the other two demitasse sized servings will be the best you ever ate.
The ambience at Commander's is perfect, if Lally Brennan is around she may give you a personal tour of the kitchen as she did for our five kids.
The service at Commander's is also the best and somewhat unique. I don't even know how they do it, but it's the perfect balance of attentiveness and leave-me-aloneness.
We make it a point to visit Commander's if we're within 500 miles and have the time and so should you. Tell them George sent you.
