over 65? Discounts for getting around the Big apple

Buses and subway fares are half price ($1.00 instead of $2)for seniors. For the bus, you need exact change, so have 4 quarters in your pocket. Going into the 'burbs? Suburban commuter trains discount for seniors, too. And there is not an extra charge for seniors who buy their tickets on the train. Other passengers pay a stiff $5 surcharge if they get tickets on board. Surburban trains: LIRR (For Long Island), NJTransit (NJ) and Metro North (Westchester and Connecticut) report a problem
