A World in Itself

Imagine knowing before you even check into a hotel how amazing the experience will be. I knew this when I received, four days before checking in, a phone call from a guest specialist at the Ritz-Carlton Central Park wanting to make sure everything was in place for my upcoming weekend stay. Besides booking for me my spa and dinner reservations, she made sure my sister would receive a "warm, special welcome" from the hotel staff for her birthday. Indeed she did. Not only was the "Happy Birthday" note beautifully written, but the Central Park-view room upgrade and chocolate covered strawberries topped it all off. The rooms were perfect: classically elegant and comfortable at the same time. The 10th floor panoramic view of Central Park could have kept us in the room for the entire weekend. The food was sublime - not to miss is the season-specific menu at BLT Market. One of the best meals I have ever had. The staff too was amazing; their authentic charm and helpfulness help make this establishment one of the greatest hotels in the country. At the La-Prairie Spa, located on the second floor of the hotel, was where I received an amazing massage by a wonderful therapist who I won't forget. Her hands seemed almost as if they were in sync with my body, meeting every point that I needed at the exact moment. After the massage I was able to relax in the steam room and then head off into the relaxation area where I was able to just veg out for another 30 minutes! I have been to many hotels around the world, and have found this one to be the only place where I feel at home. Now whenever I'm in New York, I always make sure to stay at the Ritz-Carlton, Central Park. Keep up the good work, Ritz Carlton!
