There are amazing mineral spas in Te Aroha. The water is unlike any other I've been in. It's a natural soda water spa. Be sure to plan ahead and make a booking. The spas are private. The water feels silky and it doesn't smell like Rotorua does. I think they have other treatments there than just the spa (like aromatherapy) but we opted for a soak in the wooden tub. They also clean out the water/tub between each guest. There is a B&B right next door called the Aroha Mt. Lodge which is really nice. We stayed in the main building (there are also motel units). The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. Little town which is easy to miss but is certainly not to miss. report a problem
