Powell's City of Books, Portland
A Portland institution ... and a must-see for book lovers

A great stop in Portland -- especially after a stop at the Deschutes Brew Pub nearby (Black Butte Porter is the best beer in town ... heck ... in the country) is Powell's. Pick up a map at the info desk, or just roam the many, many aisles and floors. Find rare books, pulpy novels, kids boods, etc. New and used are on the same shelves -- some great bargains can be found in the latter.
