After years of wear and tear from attendees at the adjacent convention center, this pink work horse got a long overdue, $6 million face-lift in 2003. All 410 rooms and 158 suites (plus fitness center and day spa) have been gussied up with plush bedding, modern furnishings, tile bathrooms with granite counter tops, and Wi-Fi (for a fee). The pool, arguably Palm Springs' largest, sits in the center of a huge tropical terrace with outdoor lounge and 14-foot fireplace, perfect for weddings and special events. Café Terraza features a multilevel dining area and private banquette rooms.
