Palm Springs hotels
Retro motels and quaint boutiques dominate the center of Palm Springs. For full-tilt excess, the Champagne-and-cashmere-inspired glamour imported by designers such as Kelly Wearstler (The Viceroy) and Jonathan Adler (The Parker), you'll have to head to the outskirts of town where there's more real estate for pools and full-service spas. Thanks to the area's wealth of natural hot springs, spas are a big deal around these parts and some of the best are in the neighboring towns of Palm Desert, Indian Wells, and the aptly named Desert Hot Springs. Ditto for golf courses and resorts.
