Arriving to the lodge they accommodated us to our rooms and gave us a brief about the excursions. We visited a Nele where he explained things about some local herbs and uses. We also went to fishing, not a big deal but we got some little fishes!! We also went to the river, Ailigandi Community, Desserts Islands Traveling out to Dad Ibe Island Lodge was truly amazing. It was a once in a lifetime experience for sure. You go out to the "end of the world," deep into the nature It is an experience you will not gain from any other lodges of it's kind. It is located on private and gorgeous little island with Kuna Indians Staff. The bungalows are surprisingly comfortable and spacious. No mosquitos at night. The food is homemade by a native and being a picky eater myself, I was never unhappy with the meals. Even though we were out in the middle of nowhere, I felt completely safe and at ease. No phones, limited electricity, no hot water, no room service, no computers. You are looking for the kuna Indians experience right? The Huts were amazingly constructed of all indigenous substances, bungalows large, comfortable, with a outside deck to view the Ocean. Unbelieveable that they contained shower, toilet, The lodge itself is a masterpiece. Considering its remote location, the accommodations were surprisingly comfortable. The word "luxury" just doesn't apply to Kuna Yala Area - but we were very impressed with the spacious room, comfortable beds, delicious foods, and good private bathroom facilities. This was definitely not "roughing it" - one of the highlights of the day was a refreshing cool shower after being out in the mid-day heat. Our guides, Sam, & Osiris, amazed us with their ability to spot Kuna Indians Life. They were helpful and accommodating and answered all of our questions. I had many reservations about being in the jungle and rustics accomodations, as I am not a "nature girl", but by the end of the trip I felt totally comfortable, in large part because of the expertise of the staff at the lodge. Our guides were more than happy to involve us in this unique experience - again, we felt well looked-after and were treated with kindness and professionalism throughout our stay, from the time we were greeted at the airport until the time we said goodbye to Kuna Yala Island at the gate. Our guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. They always had a good sense of humor and always had our comfort and safety in mind. If you want to escape to the nature for an authentic and peaceful (or adventurous) experience, this is the place to go! There are even a few indian communities that live close of the lodge . This lodge is an exceptional value for the experience and I would reccommend it to anyone. However after a couple of days the place really does grow on you, so much so we didnt want to leave! We found all the staff excellent, friendly and professional. In addition, my partner likes to travel comfortably and has problems with bugs and hotels that arenít clean, so we decide to pay a little more. All in all I would totally recommend this lodge for a quiet, relaxing holiday in the Kuna Indians Paradise!!!! It is a special place to relax and enjoy nature. Be sure to fly from Panama City to Achutupu by Air Panama Company.
