Casual Food, on the go 1. BE Boulangerie, Bakery, Avenue Courcelles near Parc Monceau (by Eric Kayser, also go to his bakery on Rue Monge) 2. Cuisine de Bar for Sandwiches, Salads, Rue Cherche Midi - there is a great bread place next door that they use for the sandwiches (Polaine) also, there are tons of shops in this area 3. Laduree, Great Macaroons (try the caramel macaroons) Champs Elysee, Place de Madeline, Rue Bonaparte (corner of Rue Jacob - there's a really cute room for tea) 4. Grand Epicerie (Le Bon Marche), St Germain, Good grocery, cheese, bread, prepared foods 5. Publicis Drugstore, Restaurant, Takeout in the back, Champs Elysse 6. L'As du Falafel, Falafel Sandwiches, Marais (around the corner from Mariage Freres) 7. Fauchon (on Place de Madeleine) Shopping 1. Collette, Rue du Rivoli (like a French version of Fred Segal, there is a water bar in the basement -also nice art installations upstairs - check out Le Labo, it's a fragrance brand that just launched in Colette, they make a unique scent for each location, that can only be bought in that location) 2. Mariage Freres, Tea (Marco Polo tea and Earl Grey french Blue are delicious!), Marais, rue du Bourg-Tibourg 3. Bon Marche (high end department store), off of Rue du Bac (there is also a nice chocolate store across the street, called Fouquet) 4. Muji 5. Papier + (nice cards, stationery, simple design, nice colors), rue du Pont Louis Philippe 6. Patyka (nice perfume from Hungary), Marais, Rue Rambuteau 7. Benneton Graveur (one of the oldest engraved stationery shop), Boulevard Malsherbes (you can have lunch at BE, which is close by) 8. Palais de Tea, St. Germaine 9. Flea Markets in Clignanquort - everyone loves it. Restaurants 1. Senderens, Place de Madeleine 2. Bistro Allard, St., Germain (really good roast chicken) 3. Ze Kitchen Galerie, St. Germain, Rue St. Augustin 4. Atelier de Joel Robuchon, Rue du Bac 5. Hotel de (something) in the Marais (it's the owner of Colette's husband's restaurant) 6. L'Avenue (same owners as the Costes - if you've never been to the Costes, you should also check it out) Museums 1. Musee D'Orsay (Modern Art) 2. Musee du Quai Branly (Jean Nouvelle) 3. Maison Baccarat (Place de Etats Unis) - there is a new exhibit on part deco and nouveau perfume bottles Other 1. Market on Rue Du Bac / Rue Cherche Midi (early morning) 2. Nice walk above street level in the Bastille 3. Nice view from the top floor of Galerie Lafayette (not the best for shopping, but the view of Montemartre is so nice) report a problem
