Utah's morality laws not only decree a limit on the alcohol levels of beer bought at grocery stores, but also keep a tight rein on bars. At any place where patrons drink but don't eat, you have to be a "member," or a guest of one, to get in. This is simply a matter of filling out a form and paying a small fee (usually $5 or so), though the custom of asking locals if you can be their guest is a good way to meet people.
