Patagonia is an adventurer's dream. It serves up large doses of outdoor grandeur, most of it unspoiled and unpopulated. But one of the causes of such splendid isolation is also a curse: Getting around isn't easy. Only the main highways are paved, and it's almost impossible to fly between cities without landing in Buenos Aires.
