Peru hotels

Peru's hotels range from remote jungle outposts to urban business bastions to reborn colonial classics. In Lima, top lodgings span a few neighborhoods: Miraflores, San Isidro, and soon, Barranco. The Amazon's worthiest eco-lodges are—by definition—scattered far and wide, from Tambopata to Manu. If you want to deviate from the typical trail, of which Machu Picchu is the highlight, consider the Sacred Valley's ever-expanding overnight options (versus the usual day trip), or head to the shores of Lake Titicaca. One caveat: While much of what you'll find in Peru falls squarely under the "budget" banner, most great hotels don't. You can easily spend as much for a night in Lima as in London, Paris, or New York.
