For travelers who are planning on using US Dollars in Peru and Latin America in genera, you must make sure that you take new and unblemished bills; the smaller the better. If your dollars are aged, marked, or have even the smallest tear they will not accept them. ATMs give out local currency or dollars and I always get new bills from the machines so that is a safe bet but not everyone is comfortable using ATMs outside the country. report a problem
