view web site ›'s insider take:

The moniker refers to the Belgian proclivity for bringing nature into interior design, although the selection of wares at this high-end home-furnishing emporium spans the globe. There might be handcrafted sofas from California-based design studio Oly; brightly patterned cosmetic bags from Uchi, a Japanese bag company; framed insects from globe-trotting artist Christopher Marley; or found objects, like a striking weathered wood rice mill salvaged from Southeast Asia. To some, that antique Brazilian barrel is just a $2,000 piece of driftwood, but the dear prices don't stop couples with unconventional (and expensive) tastes from adding outré Italian Gervasoni dishware and French Bleu Nature benches (modern pieces that incorporate branches and rough-finished tree trunks) to their wedding registries. The store is just off North 3rd Street, Philly's main drag for independent boutiques, and plenty of historical sites, such as Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, are also nearby.

Open Mondays by appointment, Tuesdays through Saturdays 10 am to 7 pm, Sundays noon to 5 pm.
