We have just returned from a trip to Provence. We cannot say enough about our stay at Mas du Clos de l'Escarrat in Jonquieres, France which is about 6 miles from Orange in Provence. We were able to see all 4 rooms (apartments) in the farm house. They were all just beautiful and extremely clean. The added touches are too many to list but all the beds had wonderful quilts and the rooms were decorated in the colors of Provence. We even had a tablecloth for the table. There is nothing you would need and if you do Charles and Andree the owners would be very happy to help. The first morning Andree brought us a basket of sweet picked strawberries. All 4 apartments have a shady terrace, very private that is covered with ivy. The gardens and view are just like a picture postcard. There is so much to do and see in the area and the driving is very easy. Andree will give you a detailed map. We visited Orange, Gordes, Roussillon, Menerbes, Seguret, St. Remy and Avignon. We loved going to the local markets which Andree told us which days each village had them. We cooked many dinners at the apartment moved the patio table into the gardens and ate wonderful meals with a bottle of wine. What could be better!!! Andree helped us get an appointment with a local doctor when my brother-in-law developed back problems. We all did the wine tour with Charles and even though I do not drink much and know nothing of wine, I would highly recommend it. It is very personalized and upscale. The most he takes is 6 people. I learned alot about wine and wine tasting. The scenery was beautiful a wonderful day. The best part for me was the dinner at their home (main part of farmhouse). Charles and Andree were gracious hosts and the meal was delicious. How many people experience a home cooked meal in owners homes!! They served unlimited bottles of very expensive wine. The next day Charles brought us a bottle of one that we did not finish. My brother-in-law could not beleive it and and enjoyed every last drop. We stayed 4 nights. If we had to do over we would have stayed for 7 and skipped Barcelona. We will go back. Thank you Charles and Andree for an unforgettable stay. Your beautiful farmhouse will be eched in my mind forever. If anyone has any questions or needs more info, please email me. Karen
