We stayed in Aigues-Mortes with teenage girls and had a lovely time this past June. We found that nearby several stables offer horse rides, and one where you appear to be able to wade at the beach with the horses. We had a horrific experience at Mas de LEspiguette in Le Grau du Roi. All of us were thrown from our horses as they went wild, resulting thankfully only in broken bones, shock and loss of money (they didn't refund our $320 bill!). You need to be an expert rider to take the trip to the beach - don't let them convince you otherwise. And our guide did not speak English as they advertised, and consequently was inept at dealing with first aid and controlling the mayhem. There are several other outfits offering rides. I would avoid this company!
