I've walked past this Toro Salao many times in the last 18 years we've been living in Puerto Rico, but until last night when I was searching for a new place to go with my husband, and found it in the website, we decided to go. Simply was delicious! We sat at the bar and had incredible service. I wish I could remember her name! She suggested we have the mixed croquetes which were great with a delicious sauce. Octopus escabeche was just like having it in Spain. Mussels were so tasty served with crispy slices of bread drizzled with olive oil and coarse salt. Fish of the day (sea bass) was perfect and so juicy placed on top of mashed sweet potato with the most perfect little crisps. Drank half pitcher of red sangria, and finished with creme brule and churros with vanilla ice cream. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting or living in P.R. We will definitely go back to try the paella which sounded divine, but just couldn't eat any more! They also have live music (guitarists .... spanish and jazzy) starting at 8:30 on Thursdays so we sat inside...very nice. They have a large area outside set up with tables and umbrellas if you'd rather watch all the people walking by...very entertaining. Don't miss it!
