Great article. Very helpful & accurate. What is misleading is the lead in, which promotes Brazil as being affordable and then says you should come in December January February- ie HIGH SEASON. This is exactly when you should not come unless it is your dream to spend New Year or Carnival in Rio. The weather is frequently very hot , muggy and rainy and hotel and pousada prices often more than double. Also the US$ is rapidly devaluing against the real and the tendency is for it to continue to do this as a result of Rio winning the Olympics bid.
