This past spring of 2008 while visiting Rome, my husband and I had a wonderful time and feel we did not make too many mistakes as this was our first trip to Italy. But the taxi fares were another story. So, before entering a cab, discuss with the driver what the fare will be. A set price beforehand is best because we found the fare to be alot higher than what the meter read throughout our trip. We also advise buying a Euro-rail pass if you will be traveling between cities and countries as this mode of travel is fast, efficient and economical. The over night trains were quite an adventure also and we found the whole train thing to be quite delightful. report a problem
