When visiting St. Peter's in Vatican City, climb up inside the dome--you have to bend with the curvature of the dome--to the balcony where the saints' statues are. It provides a spendid view of Rome and a peek into the Pontifical Gardens. You might even catch the Pope relaxing there. The statues are taller than lifesize and very impressive up close--as is the wonderful circular colonade. report a problem
