Rome is full of fountains, great and small. You might not know it it, but almost all are flowing with the best drinking water in the world. When visiting Rome, bring an empty bottle and just fill up at the nearest nasone or "big nose" (a small fountain with a spout that looks like a nose) or any other fountain you find. If you see a "non potabile" sign, the water is not for drinking, but those are few and far between.
