A quick and inexpensive train ride through the countryside just southeast of Rome brings you to this vineyard town. Known for their sweet white wines and porchetta sandwiches, Frascati offers several cantinas each with its own distinct variety of wine. Spend an afternoon strolling through the alleys of the charming town and sampling the products of the different vines- especially during October when the celebrate the Sagra del Vino (wine festival). Many cantinas clean out 2-liter water bottles and you can fill them with fresh wine for a low price to bring back to the city. report a problem
