Rome's most luxurious wine bar occupies the former courtyard of the 16th-century Palazzo Medici Lante della Rovere, long since roofed over with a Deco-style glass canopy. It's the latest domain of the Bleve family, fixtures on the Roman wine-and-dine scene. Anacleto, Tina, and their sons are always genial and welcoming, and their selection of wines by the glass and bottle is one of the best in Rome. The lunchtime buffet is seriously gourmet, ranging from fresh Pugliese burrata (near-liquid mozzarella) to Calabrian peppers to cookies and desserts from Sicily. Ask to visit the wine cellar, with its ancient Roman walls (it can be rented for private events). Not the cheapest refueling stop, but great for a business lunch.
Open Tuesdays through Saturdays 12:30 to 3 pm and 7:30 to 10:30 pm.
