Our room was a 4-5 star, but the resort as a whole rates more like 3 stars. We were lucky enough to get upgraded and were put into a one bedroom suite/cottage with a large, LOVELY outdoor courtyard with our own private jacuzzi. Fresh jasmine lined one of the walls to complete the setting. The only critique I'd have is that the patio furniture has seen some better days. Inside was a similar story - large and generally very nice, but with a few areas a little threadbare (parts of the bathroom appeared to have last been renovated in the 80s). Oh and a weird little thing, but worth mentioning - right above the "pillow line" at the bed there was a tile mantel that was very sharp and actually pretty dangerous. I leaned back into it a couple times, and it hurt like hell.
The bell and housekeeping staff were very good - always on their toes and very friendly. The restaurant however was pretty disappointing - incredibly overpriced and in serious need of a face lift in almost every category - should be a lot better at a place of this calibre and at those prices. The grounds and common areas could also use some sprucing- lots of face lifts needed!
