Santa Fe + Taos see + do
A good portion of what makes northern New Mexico exceptional is the setting. The sky seems never-ending, with the sun adding a blazing glow to the adobe buildings, and a watermelon blush to the mountains at sunset. Many visitors come for the range of outdoor activities: Hiking, biking, and skiing are nearby, and in winter you can even golf and ski on the same day. But there are also galleries filled with paintings, pottery, rugs, and sculpture—some of it hokey, much of it excellent—and there is that spiritual, New Age vibe. Buy crystals if you must.
