Seattle hotels
The Seattle hotel boom that seemed to add luxury digs to every corner of downtownand spurred fabulous updates of some of the city's old standbyshas slowed, though there is still some activity on the scene. The Four Seasons Seattle, which opened in fall 2008, occupies a nice perch with views of Elliott Bay (www.fourseasons.com/seattle; 206-749-7000). And while still little more than a hole in the ground, if 1 Hotel realizes its eco-luxury vision it will be the city's greenest hotelthe first to occupy a LEED-certified building (www.1hotels.com/seattle.html). Only a few Seattle hotels boast waterfront real estate, so book far in advance for prime water views, especially in July and August.
