Concierge.com's insider take:
The 5 Rooms is a very personal project from Jessica Fritz, a vibrant tastemaker who has opened the doors of her updated neoclassical apartment and expanded to the floor above. The hotel is adorned with chic antiques, eclectic art, eye-catching design pieces, and modern comforts. There is a reception area and lounge (filled with tomes on local art and culture), plus some small kitchen facilities. The guest rooms and suites—soundproofed against the busy streets below, where the 19th-century Eixample meets the Barri Gòtic—have high beds swathed in natural textiles, flat-screen TVs, spacious bathrooms, and an overall decor that exudes light and Zen-like calm. Note that the name is deceiving: There are actually 12 rooms available, plus a further two apartments in another building a few doors down the street.—Suzanne Wales
