St. Barths hotels
There are only a few hotels on St. Barths—all small, exclusive, and pricey (this is not the place for a budget vacation!). Most guests return to the same hotel or villa year after year, and the "fabulous" meter is always pegged to the limit. Location on the island is important. To be right in the thick of the jet-set St. Barths scene, consider booking a room at Emeraude Plage or Eden Rock in Baie de St. Jean. This is where new arrivals land, sometimes literally on the sand (the airport runway is short and ends right on the beach). La Banane and Hôtel Guanahani—located in a less developed part of the island, about a 20-minute drive from Baie de St. Jean—offer more privacy. Most people, however, rent a private villa on St. Barths, which can make a stay here more affordable.
