St. Barths

For our second jaunt to St Barths we decided to stay at La Banane after doing some research. Great spot. First of all, nothing in St Barths is cheap - so if you're looking for a budget trip - this ain't your island. That said however, La Banane is a pretty good deal considering how expensive the swanky hotels on St Barths are. Kinda hard to find (if its your first time on the island) the hotel is nestled in mini forrest of palm trees. There are two pools (great for late afternoons as most of your time should be spent on St Barths beaches) and a great little bar wedged between them. Be sure to try some of the hotel's signature Vanille Rum - a must on St Barths and theirs is actually quite good. The staff is attentive and friendly. If you like boutique hotels without all the 'big production' you find at some of the bigger name brand places, and want to save a little money (which you'll need for dinners every night here anyway) - definitely give La Banane a shot.
