St. Lucia hotels
St. Lucia is primarily a resort destination where visitors stay put, enjoying the sand, sun, and rum cocktails at their hotel rather than exploring the island (not helped by the narrow, partly unpaved roads). The majority of properties are former sugar plantation houses from St. Lucia's colonial days, such as the Jalousie Plantation and Ladera in the Val de Pitons. Those with more avant-garde tastes might prefer the open-air suites at Jade Mountain above the popular beachside Anse Chastanet resort. In the north, there's the polished Cap Maison, the fitness resort BodyHoliday, and yachties' favorite The Landings at Rodney Bay.
