The Land Cruisers one rides in for safari do not leave any room for a tripod to steady a camera with a long telephoto lens. Take along a "bean bag," roughly a an 8"X8" bag that you can fill with beans or sand. Lay the bag on the roof or window sill and then rest the lens on the bag.
