We climbed Kili in late Sept. 2007 and didn't have one day of rain, so would recommend going that time of year if possible. Definitely bring a sleeping bag liner and many socks because you'll probably sleep in the ones you hiked in. First full day there hiked around Arusha Park to acclimatize and see some wildlife - was a great way to start our adventure. Stayed in Arusha at the Impala Hotel. Full of climbers, had a pool, not too expensive, security (guys with guns and gates), and good food. Also, stored our bags (we went on safari after summit) there while climbing for 7 days. Great adventure and would highly recommend to those in shape to hike for about 6 hours each day. report a problem
