Oyster Bay, Dar es Salaam

My wife and I spent two nights at Oyster Bay - one on arrival in Dar before heading out to the Selous, the other on the way home. Maretha and her staff were terrific, making us feel right at home. The meals were on par with any I've had and as a NYC based food lover that is no small feet. Seriously, prawns one night, lobster another; and each meal could have been served at a **** establishment in a major city. On our last night, two Australian couples were also staying at the hotel and fueled by great food, good drinks, and enjoyable conversation we ended up sitting at the table for hours telling stories, jokes, and savoring the hospitality. Breakfast in your room, watching the sun rise over the Indian Ocean is not to be missed. Oh, and my wife is still craving the homemade biscotti! This is a must-stay hotel and when I return to Tanzania (you will be hooked after one trip) I will most certainly spend a night or two at Oyster Bay
