Concierge.com's insider take:
The vision of Tobago native Gloria Jones-Knapp, a former international fashion model, this 20-room boutique hotel east of Scarborough is an exclusive retreat for honeymooners and style-minded couples who want to avoid the package tourist scene on the southwest coast. The rooms are outfitted with classic Caribbean four-poster beds, private verandas overlooking the infinity swimming pool or the sea, bathrooms with walk-in rain showers and travertine marble, and high-tech amenities such as flat-screen TVs, DVD players, and Wi-Fi. A stone staircase leads from the pool down to placid Half Moon Bay; a hidden beach there is shaded by almond trees and backed by the open-air Rok Bar, thoughtfully positioned to fulfill your libation and luncheon needs. The on-site restaurant, Club Havana, has a breezy, loungelike vibe and a contemporary Asian-Cuban menu, with dishes ranging from chicken satay to tuna-tartare taquitos.—Chris Cox.
