Trinidad + Tobago hotels
Fused into a single country, the islands of Trinidad and Tobago could hardly be more different. Trinidad is the more urban of the two, bustling with commerce in its capital, Port of Spain, while Tobago has that beachy, postcard-perfect look you expect from a Caribbean destination. It's no surprise that the hotel options reflect this disparity: Multinational chains that cater to business travelers (think Hilton, Hyatt, and Crowne Plaza) are the norm in Trinidad—all perfectly fine places to stay, but not destinations in their own right. Tobago offers a much wider array of resorts, from luxury boutique hotels to beachfront all-inclusives. Development is confined to Tobago's southwest corner: Head to the Crown Point area for seaside resorts like Coco Reef and to Bacolet Bay for smaller-scale, service-driven properties like Bacolet Beach Club. Further north, Mount Irvine and Castara get progressively more secluded in feel, with remote clusters of castaway retreats.
