Italy - what to take?

My first trip to Italy will be in early October - Rome, Tuscany, Florence and Venice for 8 days. I have no idea what the weather is like and what to pack! Any ideas for me? Thanks so much! report a problem

I have a foreign exchange brother who is Italian and we are visiting him this month. He suggestes layering. It wil be in the 70s but evenings will be cool.
