We visited the tiny town of San Gimignano on our trip in Tuscany. It's absolutely spectacular - the jewel in Tuscany crown. The streets still have the medieval aura, the shops have museum like window displays, the tower and scenic bridge gives you breath taking views of Tuscany countryside. We stayed in a great B&B La Fornaci. It's not pricey, 5 minutes away from the old-town gates and serves a wonderful Tuscan breakfast for mere 4 euros. For dinner go to restaurant of name 'Chiribiri" at the end of San Giovanni street (going downwards). It's not pricey, has outstanding atmosphere, owner serves all the tables, the food is local and absolutely delicious. You have to show up before 8 p.m. if you want to stand a chance of getting a table. And you have to try their tiramisu. It's the best tiramisu I've ever had! report a problem
