One of the most expensive nightclubs ever built, the $30-million Cavalli Club, on two floors of the Fairmont Hotel, consists of three leopard-print lounges suspended over a vast dance stage decorated with chandeliers of Swarovski crystals. The crowd includes sheiks in Western dress, local socialites, and tourists able to charm the bouncers and meet the red-carpet dress code. Deep-pocketed guests have been known to rack up six-figure bills that include jewels from the club's own Roberto Cavalli boutique next to the private elevator.—Susan Hack
