With locals' guidance and assistance, one of our dream trips was this past Spring to St. Croix. Our 72 hours were filled with inexpensive fun and excitement; and our first-time adventures were exhilarating. Our accommodations were devine, though we didn't spend much time there, but to sleep. We did enjoy the Casino, the pool side and the beach were very private - great for a swimsuit photo shoot! Transportation to and from Christiansted, Frederiksted and hike site were through our trusty local friend - was there to please - and protect - two young women. We enjoyed sunset in Frederiksted at Blue Moon Restaurant, 3 hr hike the next morning with Ras Lumumba which included semi-rainforest, tidal pool, beach, some serious hills to overcome, flora and fauna class, rock-climbing, history lesson, FUN FUN FUN!!! he's totally worth it! Then lunch at Kim's Restaurant on King Street in Christiansted, quickly - we've gotta catch Captain Heinz' El Teroro trip to Buck Island for our snorkeling. Ending that long, but thoroughly exhilarating day with some rum punch at the Divi Carina Bay Casino in flipflops and a sarong. We had lots of fun in between, stopping on road sides drinking that long missed 'coca-nut watah' and meat - haven't had any since home in Panama, enjoying the breeze on the most Eastern point of the US, and the beautiful hibiscus road side that our guide was so gracious to share with us. It's the best kept secret if you want quiet, natural - not tourists populated - US Virgin Islands! report a problem
