The Westin St. John hasa wonderful kids program! Our daughter had a blast building sand castles, a treasure hunt - featuring iguanas! -, learning all about ocean creatures, meeting other kids, then in the evening, movies at the beautifully lit and landscaped beachside pool. All under a very safe, experienced and watchful staff that really loves children. We are a bit protective and felt very comfortable that our daughter was well cared for and entertained. While she was at the Kids Club the Westin conceirge made arranging a rental car easy and painless and soon we were on our way to an amazing snorkeling adventure at Waterlemon Cay. A fun drive (stay left and look out for donkeys,, cows and mongoose!) over scenic twisty roads with scenic vistas over those surreal blue, baby powder lovely beaches. Waterlemon is about a mile hike, fairly flat. You enter the water and snorkel to brilliant underwater life, carpets of bright orange starfish and very healthy coral and fish population. Back to the jeep and off to Shipwreck Landing, a local hangout in the Coral Bay area for the favorite island libation of Painkillers, a potent rum drink, and the very best fish tacos with Valley Doll hot sauce -- a big favorite with a memory inspiring view. Then back to the Westin to pick up a very happy and thankfully tired little girl to hang out for the rest of the afternoon on comfy louge chairs poolside while she plays in the kids pool. An ok day! report a problem
